As we explore Paul’s letter to the church at Corinth, we come this week to a turn in focus in the letter.
While the theme of the letter is the same, to be a church ready for Jesus we need to change the way we think about what it means to be a faith community. Up to 1 Corinthians 11, the focus has been on the church scattered, it’s conduct as it lives out the gospel in its community. In the following chapters Paul begins to talk about the behavior of the church when it gathers–how should we conduct ourselves so that when we gather we are ready to respond to God’s presence together.
