We live in a conflicted culture. We value our individualism and freedom of expression. We are authentic. We are our own person and what people think about us does not matter, right? Yet we are a visual and image conscious culture making us quick to judge by appearances. Perceptions are powerful. They shape how we see others, how we are seen, and how we see the world and the gospel. When perceptions do not sync with reality, the consequences are real. People can be hurt and truth can be lost, most tragically the truth of the gospel, our only hope.
